- only family member to come to Australia
- came to Australia at age 20, and brought dogs with
him from Scotland
- married his cousin, Janet Bell, daughter of Lewis
Bell - 2 children
- died after a fall from a horse at "Alma",
Booligal
- Nancy Lyle, now Nancy Bird-Walton, landed the Flying
Doctor plane to rescue him
- after the accident, his wife Jenny and sons Lewis and
Robert, lived at "Murrnong" with Jenny's parents, Lewis and MaryAnn Bell.
